(2026) III. "VICTORIA" BCN VIOLIN COMPETITION
April 17-19, 2026 | Barcelona
The III. International Violin Competition BCN "Victoria" is open to violinists of all nationalities, and is divided into different age categories:
- Junior Violinist Category for those born between 2009-2013
- Advanced Violinist Category for those born between 2005-2008
- Senior Violinist Category for those born between 2000-2004
The competition will take place in the City of Barcelona at "Victoria Music Center" Concert Hall during Easter Break from: Friday, April 17th until Sunday, April 19th, (2026).
The Application Deadline is on Thursday, February 12, (2026).
Pre-selected participants will be announced on our website on Thursday, February 19, (2026).
PROGRAM:
"Junior Violinist" > Two rounds
- Pre-selection (Video):
Video recording of one piece/work (free choice/any classical music period).
- Preliminary Round (live in Barcelona on Saturday, April 18, 2026):
Performance of one Study or Capriccio of the candidate's choice.
- Final Round (live in Barcelona on Sunday, April 19, 2026):
Performance of one piece of maximum ten minutes long of the candidate's choice.
"Advanced Violinist" > Two rounds
- Pre-selection (Video):
Video recording of one piece/work (free choice/any classical music period).
- Preliminary Round (live in Barcelona on Saturday, April 18, 2026):
Performance of one Study or Capriccio of the candidate's choice and Adagio or Fugue taken from one of the Three Sonatas for violin solo.
- Final Round (live in Barcelona on Sunday, April 19, 2026):
Performance of an important composition of 19th, 20th or 21st century for violin solo or violin and piano of the candidate's choice
"Senior Violinist" > Three rounds
- Pre-selection (Video):
Video recording of one piece/work (free choice/any classical music period).
- Preliminary Round (live in Barcelona on Friday, April 17, 2026):
Performance of one Study or Capriccio of the candidate's choice and Adagio or Fugue taken from one of the Three Sonatas for violin solo.
- Second Round (live in Barcelona on Saturday, April 18, 2026):
Performance of the first movement of W.A. Mozart's Concerto and of an important composition of 19th, 20th or 21st century for violin solo or violin and piano.
- Final Round (live in Barcelona on Sunday, April 19, 2026):
Performance of the first movement of a Concerto of the candidate's choice.
2026 PRIZES:
Note: All prize winners will receive a diploma and a trophy.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

- Video recording (free choice/any classical music period) that will be used for the preselection of participants.
- Application fee payment of 95€
GENERAL RULES:
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- By applying to take part in the Competition, candidates indicate their acceptance of these rules. This agreement is a condition sine qua non to be admitted for participation in the Competition.
- The decisions of the Jury are final and unappealable.
- The registration fee is non-refundable, even in the case of the candidate’s exclusion (for any reason), or the withdrawal from the competition by the candidate.
- Those who no longer intend to participate in the competition once they have registered are required to notify the Competition Secretariat by writing to (victoriamusicenter@gmail.com).
- The travel, boarding and lodging expenses are the responsibility of the candidate.
- This competition is not open to previous laureates of the "Victoria BCN" International Violin Competition.
Consent of the artist and exclusive property right:
• Participants and competitors (and their legal representatives in case of minors) give their consent to the Victoria Music Center for photographic, video, audio-video and audio shootings of the participant and his / her performance, in all stages of the Competition including the “Awards Ceremony and Winners' Concert” and all subsidiary events.
